Been a long time since we've visited Frog City USA aka Rayne, Louisiana (pronounced Rain). We got such a kick out of their murals last time so figured we needed to see what more they had.....well, not much ... As Dean says "you can never go back".
In the early 1900's, a company in Rayne used to ship frog legs to restaurants – as many as 10,000 pounds a week. Sometime in the mid-1970's, a group of volunteers came up with the Frog City idea and a festival. Maybe it's the recession or maybe they have run out of volunteers. Either way, the city doesn't seem as enthusiastic any longer. Many of the murals have not been maintained. No graffiti or damage like that. Just neglect.
We did find a few that were still in good condition.
But found more of these than we really wanted to see.
