We like to tell people how gray the NW is even in summer.

How the sun usually comes out every day by 3pm.

That boots are required year-round to as the ground is always soggy.

Summer starts July 1 and is over by September 1.

And August 2nd is THE dry day.

Well some years that is true. Not this year.
.
Less than an inch of rain for 3 months – in Seattle? Yep!
.
Temps over 90? Yep! We broke a lot of heat records with 11 days over 90, 31 days over 85 (usually 10 days), and 46 days over 80.
..
It has been a perfectly nice summer. Gardens needed more sprinkling than normal but the blossoms couldn't be beat.

The smoke from far away swirling around us kept us a few degrees less than if it was clear. Glad for A/C

Who would have thought we'd have a wonderful summer back in April when had 5 1/2" of rain in 2 weeks. Now that was dreary.

In September it starts cooling for fall – dew on the grass and under 60 degrees in the mornings BUT so far it is still in the 80's in the afternoon.

We love the northwest. There is always the weather to talk about.
