"NEW" YELLOW TRUCK

Another canopy for the truck was needed.  The original canopy is about 50 years old and the metal is a bit rusty.  It was a surprise to find out that not all 8' truck beds are the same size.  

So finding a replacement was difficult.  Found one to fit at Habitat for Humanity for a great bargain of $35 on half-price day and a senior discount.

Then with innate ingenuity and sweat equity (cleaning, sanding, scraping and painting) it turned out lovely. 

Sure updated the look of the old truck.  Looks like new. 

 .

I'm thinking he's hoping for another medal for next year.

Living with a Stubborn Dachshund

When Miss Lily's wants something she starts staring at me, then pacing, and when I finally notice her she starts dancing.  Ah, she wants something, I finally determine.  Out, food, toy?  Ok, food this time.

Here is an empty bowl with one piece of dog food beside it.  This is the kibble that was on top of her regular food.  This is the kibble she does tricks for – to her it is not her regular food.  According to her way of thinking, it is only to be eaten as reward for doing tricks.

I put the kibble back in the bowl - 
in the bottom, under regular dog food.

Here is an empty bowl one week later – same kibble.

Rain! Well, actually light showers

Wide-spread rain for the first time in months ....less than a 10th of an inch of rain expected.

Highs are expected to only reach the low-mid 60s. It'll be the first time in 2 1/2 months that we'll have a high under 70 degrees.

Sure glad we had an air conditioner this year.  Us Puget Sounders are very happy in the range of 65 to 72.  Anything above that we need cooling!!

And, yes, as the earth heats up we should expect more of these odd weather cycles.

Sun and Moon and Ash

We are 50 miles from two of the major fires in Washington.  

With the wind just right we can definitely see the effects.
