Hooray! Hooray! I'm 65!

Dean thinks not many people jump up and down to turn 65.  After two years of fighting the Affordable Care Act – I was more than eager to sign up for Medicare.
.
In the two years of the Affordable Care Act, none of my claims were paid without numerous phone calls, letters, and intermediaries.  All my payments were made on time to the Washington Health Exchange the first year but Premera Blue Cross said they never received the moneys from the state....so they wouldn't pay my claims.  The second year I paid Premera Blue Cross directly and they wouldn't pay my claims because they said I was delinquent as they didn't agree with the premium amount.  Premera never contacted me to tell me they wouldn't pay my claims, I had to wait until the doctors asked me about payment.
.
I contacted our state Insurance Commissioner in 2014 after getting no satisfactory answers from Premera or the Health Exchange.  They were able to handle this and get my claims paid.  By 2015 the Insurance Commissioner's office realized they'd have to hire more people to handle the high number of complaints for the Washington Health Exchange.  The answer I got this year was: "Unfortunately, the law doesn't give our office authority over the Exchange."
.
By the time I turned 65, my claims were paid though and I canceled insurance through Premera and the Exchange the end of August.  But never mind, I still continued to get email and letters from them.

The frosting on the cake was the 23 !!! invoices I received in the mail this week billing me from January 2014 through November this year (3 months after I had canceled).
.
Dean expects that I will still be hearing from these two organizations for years. OMG!
