Thomasville's Big Oak

It's my story:
.
The city of Thomasville, Georgia used to have a very nice furniture factory that operated for many years.  Unfortunately, the company was so successful that all the wood in the area was used up making chairs and such.
.
All the wood except the BIG OAK. As the Thomasville furniture makers were eyeing the tree, the garden club grabbed their hoes and fended them off.
Aren't we glad they did!
The BIG OAK is a Live Oak 330 years old, spreads 162 feet, and has a circumference of 24'.  The branches hang over the lanes of two roads.
Of course as old as "she" is, she needs a little help holding it all together!  There are a lot of supports and ties like these.
