Holiday Festival of Lights - James Island County Park, Charleston, SC

Here we are again enjoying the 3 miles of Christmas displays at
James Island County Park.
This festival is listed as one of the top 10 Christmas displays in the US.  Every night we feel the need to drive through the displays to ooh and aah.  There is even a radio station here in the park that plays constant Christmas carols as we go our merry way.
We feel lucky to camp in this campground.  Beautiful sites, loads of amenities, many miles of paved bike paths, and a dog park.  Other people might be interested in the climbing wall and the fishing dock.  Everything is done nicely.
And it isn't only a drive-through tour.  One evening we explored the walk-through displays, took a train ride and watched kids toasting mega-marshmallows.  We listened to the Low Country Brass Band playing Christmas carols, watched children sitting with Santa, drank cocoa, and admired the sandcastle.  Of course, we shopped gift stores and watched the kids trying to reach the bells and ring them at the top of the climbing wall.
The most fun we had this time was the new light display orchestrated to Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra Christmas songs.  Wow!  Certainly got the kids up and moving and we loved the play of lights during these fast paced songs!
