Wowee! Mom Nature saved up a hot one for us today. Temp got to 99 degrees, and humidity in the 80's. With the cab air conditioning not working, it was a sweaty day.
But we got to see several quaint towns along the route, scattered between more corn and soybean fields. Each town has a big corn or seed storage tank. Not sure which crop goes in them.
A quite unclear direction sign resulted in our first U-turn of the trip. (We usually plan on one per day.)
We stayed the evening in France County park, over 200 acres with campsites, picnic areas, natural pools in some old quarry pits, and trails everywhere. (Their guide map for the trails was far from accurate or complete, however. We were not lost; we were just unsure of where the hell we were!) Once again, we saw many older trailers parked for the season in the park, with folks just coming out for the weekends in their "cabin".
This last picture is presented without comment. Some readers may think its an idea whose time has come --- others (including our boating friends) may think its another wacky waste of our tax dollars trying to enforce an idea which requires education; not unenforceable enforcement.
