We've been in areas of smoke for a week or so – not low to the ground but high enough and thick enough that the Rocky Mountains aren't visible. We are told that this smoke is from Eastern Washington 300 miles away.

When we started this trip we knew that there were fires in Glacier National Park but we hoped that would all be cleared by the time we got ready to visit. Most of the beautiful sights on the Going to the Sun Road will be hidden.
Alas, no great views this year. Next time.
