Kool April Nites - Redding, CA

What luck.
We were here for the 24th Kool April Nites Car Show
A 9-day event with many "Show and Shine" display locations daily.
Rubbernecking
There have been lots of other activites from meals to bands to a drive-in movie on an inflatable screen.  Culminating on Friday night was the "Official Cruise" – a parade of (an expected) 2000 show cars for 4 miles along the city streets.  It's so popular people come out the day before to place their chairs.

Here are a few of our favorites.
LOW RAD
The owner offered a sit in the driver's seat for anybody who knew that brand of car this was.
We knew: Nash
Nobody else did
Real low.

The trunk contains the Lift Pump to get the body off the ground and ready to travel.
Yep, that says CORVETTE on the valve covers
Lots of red cars and trucks
Hmm, I know somebody that has a truck like this
but almost twice as pretty.

Ditto

No need to bring a mirror along to comb your hair
There were many car clubs represented.  Some had unique themes or details.
Like racing seat belts.  Exposed engines.  And a club of 1930ish era vehicles leaves them all with a rusty look (mostly it is just rust).  The Morris Minor club had themed vehicles like a police car, fire engine, and patriotic.  This surf wagon is pretty cute.
Morris Minor Duece Coupe
Exactly how small is this engine?
