Winter at Kalaloch

Been a while since we last camped at Kalaloch.  Two of our favorite spots are GONE!  Washed away as the bank sloughed off.  But our timing was perfect to get a great view spot.  Never saw a whale spout but did see a couple of fishing boats.
.
There was a surprising the number of campers here – few tents though (duh).  Our temperatures ranged from 35 to 28 while we were here and all our heating systems kept pace.  Beautiful sunshine each day.
.
The day we got here, there was lots of cold wind, freezing wind chill, and frothy waves.
Dean's gals weren't totally thrilled.

Also the tide was high and that left not much beach.  But the sunset was spectacular.
.
Second day was cool and calm.  Great beach walking.  We headed south around the corner into Kalaloch Creek.

Built a stone stack – gotta do that with the flat stones of Kalaloch.  Found some line and a Japanese fishing float.
.
On the third day we woke up to 2" of snow!  A first for us at Kalaloch.  Watched an eagle diving for a sea bird with no luck.
