Ok, no more whining about NW rain. We've had 48 days without rain. You down in Arizona can't appreciate that fact. The all-time maximum period in Seattle without rain is 51 days. From the forecasts, we'll be breaking that record maybe by 10 days.

Our temps this past week have been in the mid-90's. Those temperatures are also unusual as our average this time of the year is mid-70's.

So we are hot and we are dry but we are also housebound as the hot air is coming from the interior of British Columbia where there are over 150 forest fires burning.

Along with the hot dry air is smoke from the fires making visibility low and the air we breathe unhealthy.

We do have water out for all our birds and squirrels and they have been very active at the feeders in the morning and trying to stay cool in the heat of the day. But as soon as the sun gets off the squirrel feeder we have one squirrel that ducks into the feeder and just hangs loose.
