This has been a great experience at Valle Del Oro. We actually parked in one place for a month! So unheard of for us. During the resort's busy time of January thru March there are so many activities and entertainment. We had lots of fun.
When we first arrived Dean took a 6-hour course in using the tools in the 6000 sq ft woodshop.
Oh, my, what can be done with the right tools! He used his newfound skills to create a bracket for a new TV in the RV and 4 drawer fronts for a set of drawers he will be making where the old TV was located.

He may have been able to finish the drawers but would that have left him any time for the watching the trains?
Several times a week the trains are running. And there is constant improvements & remodeling of the railroad yard.
Laurie took an orientation tour. Visiting the rock shop, leather working, silversmithing, sewing/quilting, pottery, ceramics, stained glass, computer, billiards, library, gym, and woodshop. Baseball was over for the season when we got there. The park has 9 teams. But there are still the pickleball players, tennis nuts, golfers, and shuffleboarders.
Laurie signed up for 3 classes in stained glass, and made three different items.
Every Thursday, 100 vendors come to sell at the Country Store. Laurie really needed to check that out each week.
And March is the time for the semi-annual resort garage sale. We were lucky to find our buzzard! Not everyone has one.
In between time, we took instruction in pickleball and practiced our new skill(?). Also played bocce ball on the resort's nice new courts.
Enjoyed watching the Pinewood Derby competition.
85 different cars and each car had to run a race in each lane.
We were tickled at how well the women competed against the men.
There used to be a "Powder Puff" class but the women are entering into the stock class now. May have to try our hand at this next time.

Didn't have to worry about cooking as there were many parties planned. Potlucks and Friday's Taco Salad. Each noon the grill was open. Breakfast on the weekends. And always fresh juice in the morning. This is the time for oranges and grapefruit, lemons and tangelos.
A different band played every evening at happy hour, and major entertainment events held twice weekly. This month one of the entertainers was Kenny G from Seattle. At one party there were musicians in 3 different areas. Always lots of dancing. Looks like we need to learn to do line dancing as there is lots of boot-scootin' going on.
And if we got bored there were always the trains to watch.
We were lucky to have friends in the area to goof off with. And we went sightseeing, enjoyed a concert under the stars,
dined out, and hiked around looking for desert blooms and geocaches.

We talked to many people about how they liked Valle Del Oro and got a kick out of the same story being repeated. "We came the first time for 2 weeks. The next year we stayed 2 months. By the third year, we stayed the whole winter, bought a park model, and left the RV at home." Lots of happy campers here.
Will we be back? We sure enjoyed it and had a lot of fun. Valle Del Oro is definitely on our list of favorite places to stay.
