A MINI-FLOOD AT VALLE DE ORO

Seattle was getting rain, and mornings here in Mesa were cold.   The TV weatherpersons said another storm was coming to Arizona that might bring some rain.  The next day, they said the coming storm should cause scattered rain.  On the day before it got here, they said isolated areas could get heavy showers.   Only one said to expect moderate to heavy rain all day.

In the middle of the night, rain started.   It never ended.  By the end of the day, and into the next day, the water rose around our site.  What luck ---- there was eventually two to six inches of water pooled around our concrete island.

Our power line was under water (but the plug is on a raised pedestal, so no worry about short circuits).  Our sewer line was under water, but our air-tight seal was also water-tight, so no sewage got into the small lake behind the RV.

On the third day, all the water except the "lake" had subsided.  Dean dug a trench toward the low spot near the power pedestal, and the lake disappeared within a few hours.  Kinda like Moses parting the waters.  Lucky for us, our spot wasn't recatagorized ($) as a premium LAKEFRONT spot!

Three days later, everything dried out and the temperatures here have been record-breaking for this time of the year - in the high 80's and even reaching the 90's.  And out came the buzzards looking for unsuspecting tourists that weren't carrying their water bottles!

Old Mother Nature has to prove who's in charge now and then.  Did you ever doubt it?
