It’s Baaack!!!

Some of our readers might remember that last year we reported on a strange plant that "erupted" from our pile of garden trimmings.  It turned out to be a 15-foot vine that produced a dozen cute mini-pumpkins.  Laurie painted whimsical faces on them and gave them to neighbors and friends.
We cut up the vine, ran it through our shredder machine and buried it in the pile.   Lo and Behold --- it seems to be back this year.  Again, the vine moved at lightning speed across the pile and toward the house.

Laurie is convinced that it's a different plant this year, and the "fruit" we see on the vine perhaps makes this a valid idea.  The still very green orbs look bigger than last years final product.

 Egad!  Real  pumpkins?   Gourds??
The plant that ate Chicago???    Stay tuned.
