We have this pile of blossom and grass clippings and pulled weeds – our compost pile but this year we had a monster grow in the pile. We wondered what in the heck? 16' long and 6' wide – with cute yellow blossoms. Then some little gourds? squash? started appearing.
By mid-September we knew! We had a crop of mini-pumpkins. How? Why? Best guess is that last year we threw a mini-pumpkin in the pile and it decomposed and the seeds sprouted. In the meantime, we learned all about the sex life of a pumpkin. ... but that's for another blog :o)
Hooray for us! 13 little ones. I had fun decorating.
