Readers know one of our most favorite campgrounds is Jumbo Rocks in Joshua Tree National Park. What makes it even more special is to share it with friends. And absolute perfection is to share it with my brother Glen.
We were so excited when his schedule would let him meet us there and we lucked out that he got a site next to us. There was lots of visiting, hiking, and sharing of meals (who would have expected dinner AND dessert for 3 out of his van! – It's magic!).
.
This was our first time to see "Plan B" the van that Glen has been modifying into a camper this past year. He's given a lot of thought to what he wants and doesn't want. His experience camping as a kid helped out there. But the improvements in equipment over the years has been a great help.
He's put in a refrigerator, a full size camping toilet, black out curtains, LED lights, solar panels, surround sound, TV and a fireplace (haha). He's even got the capability to have a sit down bath.
And what a kick with the bamboo thatch beach umbrella! – we had plenty of sun and sand but no beach or warmth. What should we expect at 4400' late December.
.
He's going to have lots of fun with Plan B....Hmm. I did not see the fishing poles. Knowing Glen, that's gotta be a must have.
