Okay, after the conduit colonoscopy, THE MAN spent a few days dragging power cords around in the attic and drilling holes to stuff the wires in. A little interesting when he got to work around the two-level attic (old garage and RV garage). But he made it! (Of course, he did, ye of little faith!)
He's ready to power up the new garage junction box. So today we took the rest of the 180' of 4-strand #2 power cord and snaked it first out to the front yard, fed more conduit up the wires (this is sounding like weird actions again!), drug the wires back toward the garage, tucked it behind the trees and back out to the front yard. Seemed like a lot of moving the cords around but with two dragging the heavy wire we got back to where it needed to be fed into a
live power box!
.
Egads, was I nervous.
I gave Dean lots of advice, then sat in the house chewing nails, trying to figure which to do first in case of emergency: call 911 or start CPR. (I did unplug the computer, just in case a surge came down the powerline.)
.
So Dean got started. He tugged the wire into position, then stripped them (the wires), and fed them into the power box where he could find room. Sometimes he wanted to use a little more force but there were lots of nasty volts flying around so he minded his p's & q's. And, tada!, we have new power to the garage. ,
Great job, guy! It is so nice being married to a HANDY man!
Stay Tuned!
