Not sure if we've ever mentioned how lucky we are to have Blake Island Marine State Park so close to us. (Ha – think there might be 3 or 4 or 5 blogs here about Blake!).

Now that the boat is running we headed that direction for 3 days. The marina which crams in 50 boats in the summer had 6 or less while we were there. And to put the icing on the cake: the docks now have electric to plug into. It was so toasty at night!
All the grounds were soggy from the latest storms. Weather was nice and the forecasted "king tide" was a yawner with a high barometer the waters didn't get as high and the calm seas caused no damage. We did find lots of flotsam did come off the beach and came home with some prizes (planks and such).

We took a long hike across the island. Climbed over 8 down trees; forded 3 shallow streams; and slogged thru mud from slides. From all the winter rains, the ferns and mosses are a pretty spectacular shade of green.
Spied 6 deer and the eagles spied us.

Walked carefully to avoid the tons of "duck moss" left by the resident Canadian geese.
