.
We are lucky enough to live in the Puget Sound area of Washington State.   The San Juan Islands is a fantastic archipelago with many marine parks and secure anchorages.   This cruising area is just a half-day's cruise north from home.
.
This year we got to have about a month exploring up there.   There was a definite emphasis on catching Dungeness crab.   And it was a great year to do so.   We caught our pot limits several days and many of the crab were much bigger than the size limit.
.
But catching crab was not our only activity.   Follow along and see what we saw!
.
We were lucky to be able to have our grandson Jeff come along for a couple weeks.   His schedule is full with baseball and many other activities and it has been tough to get this much time with him.   But not this year!   He turned 13 on our trip.   We know that as kids get older, their schedules get even more full.
.
He was a great kid to have along!   We are glad he could come with us this time.
