Three lakes called the CCC ponds (Duck, Fish, and Beaver ponds) have a nice walking path around them. They were started by the CCC in the 1930's but weren't finished until local residents took it on in the mid-80's.
Lots of blooming wildflowers,
ospreys in a nest, and some antelope but no moose.
The Beaver pond is where we were most likely to glimpse a moose. If no moose, then beaver or listen to the different bird sounds. Well.... not today. All we heard was "beep-beep-beep" and the clang of rocks being dropped from the excavator bucket.
