Miss Lily doesn't have the usual bad habit of other dachshunds....in that she doesn't eat everything she sees!
We've offered her a bit of meat - nope, a piece of apple - nope, and even some real dog treats - nope again.
She eats her Puppy Chow and that's it. She'll even do a roll-over and shake hands for a bit of Puppy Chow...that is, until recently!
Daughter Lori told us Miss Lily is no longer a puppy and needs to have adult dog food. We were afraid to make that transition with the bad luck we've had with other food. But we bit the bullet. Bought adult food and mixed her a dish of part adult dog food - part puppy food to see how she took to it.
Down the bowl went to her mat and she greedily started picking and eating! Picking the puppy food out and putting it on the mat! And chomping down the adult food! Surprised us!!
