There are a bunch of myths about this park: that Ponce de Leon found the Fountain of Youth here; that the Spanish built a sugar mill here in the late 1500's. I think perhaps Ponce loved pancakes as much as Dean does.
We had lunch at the Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant where the table contained a pancake grill. We were brought two kinds of pancake batter and we made our own. We understand that in the high tourist season that it is not unusual to wait up to 3 hours to be seated. We were the only customers today.
